Questions about key extraction
Should I try to pull the broken key out myself?
Better not. Digging at it often pushes the piece deeper or damages the pins. A proper extraction tool gets it out cleanly, usually saving the lock.
Can you make a new key after removing the broken one?
Yes. In most cases we cut a working replacement on site so you leave with a key that works.
Why did my key break?
Often it is a worn key, a stiff lock, or both. We check the lock after extraction and can repair or rekey it so it does not happen again.
